WEDNESDAY USHERS IN DEBATE SEASON IN THE U.S.
Today starts one of three presidential debates "in the home of the free". The debates are national affairs in the States. They are supposed to offer potential voters a glimpse into the four-year career path of a president-elect.
The incumbent is to defend his performance record in the oval office. And the hopeful, Senator Mitt Romney, hopes to win Americans over to his proposed program for the next four years.
Has Obama defended the U.S. constitution with decency? Has he charted new territory with reference to America's history? And has his policies upgraded, enriched, magnified, and modernised the proverbial American Dream? All these questions will loom large against his rhetorical prowess. How well will he fare?
