16TH US PRESIDENT LIVES THROUGH ALL TIME
"If destruction be our lot we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of free men we must live through all time, or die by suicide." This is how Abraham Lincoln regarded the American principle of republicanism, and what it had been tasked to achieve.

Now there is a film to portray the last days of this "great and good man". Directed by Steven Spielberg, the Lincoln biopic is based on historian/writer Doris Kearns Goodwin's book, "Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln". This is how Spielberg depicted it:

"[The Lincoln movie is] not a battlefield movie. There are [Civil War] battles in it, and being in Virginia, we have access to those historic battlefields. It is really a movie about the great work Abraham Lincoln did in the last months of his life... We are basing it on Doris Kearns Goodwin's book, "Team of Rivals", but we're only focusing in on the four months of Abraham Lincoln's life."

The biopic opens in theatres on Nov. 9, 2012. And stars Daniel Day-Lewis as the "Railsplitter".
